The life of the legendary Elvis Presley in an unprecedented form: through the eyes of his mysterious manager, Tom Parker, who calls himself „the Colonel.” The strange, ever-changing relationship (sometimes friendship, sometimes hatred) between the two men lasted more than 20 years. • Before production was canceled, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Rufus Sewell were cast in the roles of Elvis Presley’s parents. They were forced to give up their roles six months later, when production resumed due to scheduling problems.
• Since „Moulin Rouge!” this was Baz Luhrmann’s third film to be shot in Panavision (anamorphic) (2001).
• Elvis, despite his petite stature, was an excellent amateur boxer who even represented his school. This skill came in handy during his film career, when he often had to take part in brawls.
• In March 2020, during the film’s production in Australia, both Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson tested positive for coronavirus. As a result, production was halted.
